Call for Volunteers at Urbana Farmers Market

Do you enjoy talking about birds? Do you support CCAS’s mission “to promote interest in the natural environment and encourage protection of native habitats in Champaign County and beyond”?
CCAS is planning to participate in Urbana’s Market at the Square in 2025 and is looking for volunteers to help us meet our goal of a fully staffed table one Saturday morning per month, May through October, 7 AM to noon.
Volunteers will join a CCAS Board member to inform visitors about birds, the natural areas in Champaign County and surrounding area, opportunities to learn about birds, and events to put that learning to work.
CCAS will provide the table, comfortable chairs, a canopy to protect you from the sun and rain, a collapsible wagon to move things from the parking area to our vendor space, a list of talking points, and materials (including some for children) to hand out. We’ll also have someone on hand to help set up the canopy.
If interested, please email CCAS Vice-President Roger Digges (rogerdigges49@gmail.com) with the following info:
Which Saturdays you could be free in May, June, July, August, September, and/or October (We understand your availability may change between now and later this year.)
Whether you prefer a 1-hour, 2-hour, 3-hour, 4-hour, or even 5-hour shift
To help us plan, please get in touch by February 10th. Thank you!
Feel free to reach out to CCAS Vice-President Roger Digges at rogerdigges49@gmail.com with any questions.
