At 7:30 A.M. on Saturdays September 23, September 30, October 7, and October 14 join CCAS for a guided bird walk at Weaver Park in Urbana, focusing on trying to detect difficult-to-find rail and sparrow species. Meet at the parking lot located just west of Dr. Preston Williams Elementary School in Urbana (see this map).

Weaver Park is an ecological gem that is a unique habitat within the confines of Champaign-Urbana. Plans are currently being developed to construct athletic fields in the park (learn more on the Urbana Park District website), so we want to give everyone a chance to appreciate and enjoy the natural areas as they are now.

Conservation Chair Zak Sutton will lead walks on September 23 and October 7. Volunteer Aerin Tedesco will lead the walk on September 30. Volunteer Dr. Michael Ward will lead the walk on October 14.
